Chris Ferguson Wins Event #7 WSOPE 2017
American poker pro Chris Ferguson demonstrates excellent performance in the 2017 World Series of Poker Europe. Event #7 brought him the gold champion bracelet.
However, the legendary “Jesus’” performance in the previous WSOPE 2017 tournaments in Rozvadov was also noteworthy:
- Event #6 – 29th place and €3,215 in prize money
- Event #4 – 26th place and €2,771 in prize money,
- Event #3 – 36th and €1,302 in prize money,
- Event #2 – 70th place and €800 in prize money,
This time, Ferguson gathered €39,289 in prize money. The last tournament under the seventh number with a buy-in of €1,650 was devoted to Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better and collected 92 registrations and a prize fund of €132,411. In the decisive heads-up, Ferguson beat Ukraine’s Stanislav Wright.
Later “Jesus” described his performance in Event #7 WSOPE 2017 as “surrealistic” noting that he did not expect this win.
Chris Ferguson is one of the most famous representatives of the poker world. Because of his beard and long dark hair, he was called Jesus. This image, supplemented by an invariable cowboy hat and sunglasses, will certainly remain in your memory.
Chris loves the mathematical and intellectual component of poker. He believes that the most important quality of a good player is the ability to make smart and non-standard decisions. He spent a lot of time studying this game aspect, as well as analysing the strategies of other players in detail. Chris has the gift of “reading” opponents, correctly interpreting their unconscious signals and building his game on the counterattack.
One of his goals is to become a professor of game theory at a well-known university. Cowboy nicknamed Jesus with a photographic memory and doctoral degree, a man who can win ten thousand dollars without investing a cent, a guy who knows how to cut vegetables by throwing cards, and, probably, even is able to walk on water … Chris Ferguson is a real catch and the highlight of any tournament creating diversity in this world.
